What I treat most

Focus Areas

Most people arrive with one of a handful of problems. These are the ones I see week in, week out, and where a proper assessment usually changes the plan.

Jaw and neck

TMJ and neck pain

Jaw pain, clicking, headaches at the temples, and neck tension that will not settle. The jaw and the neck share muscles and nerve supply, so treating one without looking at the other tends to give short-lived results.

The North York clinic sits inside an ENT and oral surgery practice, which means the people best placed to rule out a dental or airway cause are in the same building.

Lower back

Lower back pain that limits your sport

Back pain that flares with tennis, golf, running or lifting, and has not improved with rest. Usually it is not the back alone: hip mobility, thoracic rotation and how you load through a swing or a stride all feed into it.

The goal is not to tell you to stop playing. It is to work out what is actually failing, treat it, and build the capacity back up so the same thing stops happening.

Shoulder

Rotator cuff and shoulder pain

Pain reaching overhead, sleeping on that side, or a shoulder that has been weak since an injury months ago. Rotator cuff problems respond well to loading, but only once the irritable stage has been settled and the cause has been identified.

Assessment first: what hurts, what is weak, and what the shoulder blade is doing while the arm moves.

Not on this list?

These are the most common, not the only ones. Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy cover most musculoskeletal complaints: sports injuries, joint pain, muscle strains, and the aches that come from sitting at a desk all week. If you are unsure whether what you have is treatable here, message me and describe it.

You can also read how sessions work and what they cost, or the frequently asked questions.
